When Punk Glows Pop

One day my sister showed up with this CD full of pop covers. It’s possible she bought it from Hot Topic, back when it was all about the music. I’ve always been fond of the colors of the cover.

One of my favorite song covers ever appears on the tracklist, I’m Real by The Starting Line (originally by Jennifer Lopez). My favorite thing about it is how fast it is. Back when I still had a CD player in my car (RIP), whenever I heard the track start up on a random mix CD I had to listen to the full thing.

Other favorites from the record include Everywhere by Yellowcard (originally by Michelle Branch), Like A Prayer by Rufio (originally by Madonna), Bye, Bye, Bye by Further Seems Forever (originally by NSYNC) and I Want It That Way by Dynamite Boy (originally by Backstreet Boys).

Released in 2002, this was the original Punk Goes Pop. It appeared on the shelves after Punk Goes Metal came out two year prior. Since then a variety of Punk Goes albums have been created.
